About Me
My name is Gertrud Makgabenyana and I am originally from Botswana, Southern Africa. In 2002, I graduated from the University of Missouri in St. Louis with a Bachelors in Psychology, Mass Media, and Communication Theories Studies. In 2007, I earned a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the American International College in Springfield Massachusetts.
Over the past 16 years of working as a mental health clinician, I have had the opportunity to work in outpatient services, in-patient services, court services, and in school settings. I also have a great deal of experience working with individual that are struggling with mental illness.
My clinical skills compose of working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, self-esteem issues, grief, anger issues, behavioral issues, family conflict, personality disorders, persistent mental illness, and stage of life stressors.
I enjoy talking with people and learning their stories. I believe that we all have a unique path in life and a place where we belong and are accepted. Each person has an inner strength to be cultivated. I am honored to help those in need and look forward to aiding people on their journey through life.
